What's happening in the MissLou Outdoors
Turkey season is over and we are all anxiously waiting for September when dove season begins. Time start thinking about getting your new hunting licenses. You can order them online from the Louisiana or Mississippi License websites. Archery season is also creeping up on us in the MissLou Area. You should join ArcheryTalk.com, its an excellent source of information on all archery subjects. Checkout out tab under hunting archery to get more info on new products for 2008.
Horns are starting to grow..
Horns are starting to grow and there are lots of new cams
out on the market. You can find great reviews for game cameras at www.chasinggame.com. You can check out the hunting tab of this website to find more information on game cameras. In the mean time, get your camera out there and send us your best game camera pic of the new year. Here is a link to the Cabelas and Bass Pro sites for their game cams. CuddeBack has come out with a new low end camera called the Capture. It has all the great features of the old Cuddeback's but without all the bells and whistles. We located a website, Trailcameras.net that is dedicated to scouting camers.
Late Summer is the time for Reds
The entire Louisiana coast is teaming with reds in
August through October. Recent reports from anglers in Grande Isle pretty much guarantees a box of reds if the weather permits. Check on the LA Sportsman or Mike Lane's website for guides and areas to fish. The strong outgoing evening tides through Belle pass produces a condition that make the rock jetties a feeding frenzy. Angler Danny Dupree and his son Blake recently filled an ice chest with reds in short order playing the outgoing tides. So if you are waiting for hunting season with not much else to do, take a trip to Fouchon or Venice and get in on the action!
